The Wakeful Wanderer's Guide on Patreon & Wattpadd

First of all, thank you so much for subscribing to my newsletter. I know that many of you have come here via Jim's Big Ego's list, and hopefully you are aware of my writing endeavors. If you are not, here is what I'm doing.
Over the past year I've been writing a Speculative Fiction novel called The Wakeful Wanderer's Guide to New New England and Beyond. It's about a travel writer named Marto living in Tarrytown, NY 80 years from now. The world is split between the transhumans and the luddites.
This story is different from most sci-fi novels insofar as there are NO
- Laser Guns
- Spaceships (with one strange exception - it's complicated)
- Exploding Planets
- Aliens from other worlds
- Bizzare end of the world scenarios, aside from the ones we are currently facing.
In other words, it's a story about regular people, but it's 80 years in the future. In every possible case, I try my best to stay realistic with my expectations for techological advances. The novels I like along these lines (Gibson, Stephenson, Attwood) amplify situations that exist now. That's what I've tried to do with my book.
I've been writing this book in public, partially because I'm a performer, and partially because doing so, is very appropriate to the theme of the novel.
Lately I've been getting very involved in Wattpad. Chapters go up there at a slower rate than on Patreon for subscribers.
On Patreon, you can read the very latest chapter for $1 / chapter.
On Wattpad, you can read the chapters for free, but on a delay. If you do, and you like what you read, voting on a chapter moves the book up in the rankings (very helpful) and you can comment on specific paragraphs (even more helpful).
Because you subscribed, you get an advanced look at the first draft of this book. Soon I will start editing it for final publication. I have only 3 (three) !!!THREE!!! chapters left to write.
So whether you want to read it as a patron on Patreon, or on WattPad, PLEASE send me your honest feedback while I can still use it. I want this book to be the best it can be, and you can help me with that.
So - I hope this will be a nice addition to your summer reading - and one where you can contribute to the final result.
Thanks!
- Jim
