Crisis of Capitalism & "Buddhist" Economics
Below is the increasingly famous animated talk on the crisis of capitalism - a marxist view of what happened - and continues to happen.
And here is E. F. Schumcher - looks like a while ago - talking about a concept of buddist economics - which I can't stop contemplating lately -
I don't think this fellow understands much about buddhism - maybe he does. The pricinple is that all beings desire happiness, free from suffering.
The main question of the future is - was Adam Smith correct?
"What can be added to the happiness of a man who is in health, out of debt, and has a clear conscience?"
Is this all we need to be happy? Is it true that all human beings desire to accumulate wealth above all else? What is our system of economics based on? is it accurate? If not, how can we expect it to work for us?
